How Haven works
Haven is a private AI coaching space. There is no feed, no score, and no audience — just a quiet room where a guide coaches you through what's on your mind, one honest question at a time.
1. Choose a guide
A guide is an AI coach with its own style — not a person, and not a therapist. Each one shapes the questions you're asked, the tone of the conversation, and the practical framing, while the same safety rules apply to every one:
- Healing CoachRecommended — for working through what still hurts.
- Boundary & Word Coach — for hard conversations, conflict, and boundaries.
- Life Design Coach — for life-changing exercises you actually follow through on.
- Breakthrough Guide — for moving forward when life feels heavy.
You can switch guides whenever you like. Many people settle into one; others pick differently depending on the day.
2. Talk or type
Open a conversation and say what's actually going on — half-formed is fine. Your guide listens, reflects your own reasoning back to you, and asks the kind of questions that help you untangle a knot: What's the real worry underneath this? What would you tell a friend in the same spot? What's one honest next step?
If speaking feels more natural than writing, call mode lets you have the whole conversation out loud — you talk, Haven answers in a voice, and the exchange is saved as text like any other reflection. There's more on why that helps on the voice reflection page.
3. Leave lighter
A good session ends with the tab closed. Haven is deliberately built without streaks, badges, or notifications engineered to pull you back — success is naming the feeling, seeing the pattern, and getting on with your day. Your reflection history stays saved to your account, so you can return to a thread on any signed-in device when you choose to.
Watch it, or read it
The same walkthrough people see inside Haven — and the whole script underneath, if you would rather read than watch.

This is Haven — a quiet place to think out loud. Not a therapist, and not a crisis service. Each conversation is a reflection.
It opens with your guide's first line, and titles itself from what you write. You pick who you are talking to. Each guide listens differently.
Choosing another one starts a fresh reflection, so a conversation keeps one voice throughout. Type what is on your mind, and press Enter. The reply streams back a word at a time.
Or speak. The microphone types for you, and never sends on its own. The phone starts a call — Haven talks back, and waits for a pause before taking its turn.
Voice comes with any account, free trial included. What comes back is not a verdict, and it will not decide for you. Ask for ideas and you get them.
Usually there is a question at the end to keep you moving — though not when you have just closed something off, or you need a moment to sit with it. You can also just say how you want to be spoken to. Ask your guide to be shorter, or warmer, or straighter with you, and it holds — and over time that quietly becomes something it remembers.
Reflections stay in the sidebar, and you can pin the ones you keep returning to. Signed in, they follow you across devices. Tasks holds a practice for the week.
Open it and Haven starts a new reflection with the guide that suits it, and writes the opening line for you — you decide whether to send it. What you work on becomes a skill, moving from Learning, to Building, to Advancing, to Mastery. Your guide sets that as you genuinely get better at it.
You cannot mark it yourself. Customize Haven sets the tone in advance — a few quick questions, saved as you answer, and one tap back to the default. Memory is what carries between reflections.
It was built to catch the things that do not look like information — a word you keep flinching at, a phrase you keep returning to, a pattern across weeks. That is usually the part that mattered. There is a soundtrack too, if you want one.
Put something on and it keeps playing while you write — and it steps aside on its own when you start a call. Before your guide answers, every message goes through a safety check. Anything urgent gets a crisis line first — ahead of the guide, and ahead of any question about your plan.
A helpline is one tap away. And when you are done, you close the tab. Nothing to finish, nothing to report.
Coming back later is the whole point.
What Haven remembers, and who can see it
Your reflections are tied to your account and are never public, never sold, and never used for advertising. Message text is sent to the AI provider only to screen for safety and generate the reply. Analytics is optional, pseudonymous, and never includes what you write — and you can turn it off (which also deletes the stored events) in Settings. The details are spelled out in the Privacy Policy and the FAQ.
What it costs
You can try Haven free with a one-time 315K weighted-token trial — no credit card required. After that the paid plans are Pro at $25/month for 4.88M weighted tokens a week; Plus at $50/month for 9.75M weighted tokens a week; Max at $100/month for 24.38M weighted tokens a week. Every plan includes every guide and call mode; what changes is how much you can use them — and Together, the two-person conversation, which is the one tiered feature: any paid plan can join one, Plus and Max can open one at any time, and Pro can open one only during its first 30 days. Full details are in the full pricing page, and you can cancel anytime in Settings.
What Haven is not
Haven is a reflection tool. It is not therapy, not medical care, and not a crisis service, and it doesn't diagnose or treat anything. If you're weighing Haven against professional support, the honest comparison is on Haven vs. therapy.
