Does Haven replace professionals?

No. Haven doesn't replace a therapist — it works alongside one and makes their work go further between sessions.

The short answer

A therapist does something Haven can't: they understand your full history, recognize what's really going on, and stay responsible for your care over time. Haven isn't built to take that over, and it isn't trying to. It's a private place to think out loud between the moments that matter — a way to keep the work going when you're not in the room with the person who actually knows you.

The best setup, by far, is both

Therapy happens for an hour, and then life happens for the other hundred and sixty-seven. The hard part is usually what comes up between sessions — the argument on Tuesday, the spiral at midnight, the thing you meant to bring up and forgot. That's the gap Haven is built to sit in: somewhere to gather your thoughts, so you arrive at your next session clearer instead of starting from scratch.

We're building a therapist dashboard so the two can work together directly. A therapist will be able to shape how Haven supports their client between appointments — the direction to hold, the things to gently return to — so the reflection in between actually points back toward the work you're doing together. Instead of a gap between appointments, the client gets continuity. The therapist stays in the lead; Haven just helps carry the week.

If you can't get to a therapist

Not everyone can — cost, waitlists, timing, or just not being ready yet. If that's you, Haven is here in the meantime, and it's a real place to think and be heard. But we'll be honest with you: on its own, it's the fallback, not the ideal. The ideal is a real therapist with Haven supporting them. If a day comes when you can reach one, Haven will be the first to point you there — and then it'll do its best work at their side.
